A lot of people think companies accept funding just for the money. That wasn’t the case for Vendini. When we went out seeking our first-ever round of funding, our first priority was finding an investor partner that believes in us and our vision. We found that in Level Equity Management. In the short time since we accepted a $20 Million investment from the venture capital firm, CEO George McCulloch has been a supportive advisor, and he has provided me with insights I’ve used to lay the foundation for this next chapter at Vendini.
That is why I selected George along with two other seasoned, well-respected professionals to sit on the Vendini board of directors. George is an experienced investor and has spent most of his career working in the financial sector for companies like Summit Partners and Insight Venture Partners where he was the managing director. McCulloch is also an independent director of Medidata Solutions and a trustee of ARTstor, a non-profit initiative founded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation that builds technology to enhance education in the arts.
Rounding out the board are two individuals I trust and respect, John Taylor and John Rogers. Taylor is the principal of Coordinate Group, a consultancy to early-stage technology companies. Previously president and CEO of eCast, an early interactive, place-based media network, he was also Senior Director of Market Development at Macromedia before its acquisition by Adobe.
Rogers is currently Chief Strategy Officer of the Gordian Institute, a strategist firm to policy makers and management teams. He is also CEO and co-founding partner of Capstone National Partners, a government relations firm, and serves on the board of Paratransit Services. Since 2006, he has specialized in applying entertainment industry technologies and ideas to the needs of national security. Based in Milwaukee, WI, he also serves on several nonprofit boards of directors and has worked for the U.S. Department of Defense.
I am grateful for the bench depth assembled to help guide Vendini to its next stage of growth. Our board’s exceptional mix of entertainment and technology experience will help us deploy our larger talent pools wisely, expanding our product range into promotion, donations, marketing and patron-specialized CRM — everything a venue business needs to grow.
