With four different venues catering to students and numerous community organizations in a city with more than two million residents, Santa Clara University puts on over 250 events every year. “Sometimes it feels like we do 250 events a week,” said Ruth Pangilinan, Community Relations Manager for SCU Presents, the marketing, promotions and operations arm for the university theaters. But such a healthy respect and love for the arts comes with some unique challenges.
With student employees constantly graduating, long lines of patrons arriving minutes before show time and a VIP list a mile long, SCU Presents was in the same boat as many other universities. They needed to be able to sell tickets in different locations on campus, tools to connect with their community and a system that was incredibly easy to learn and use.
