First and foremost, I’d like to say one thing: GO VOLS!
We are incredibly excited to announce that we’re opening a brand new office right in the heart of the Old City, near Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, to be headed up by our Director of Festival Solutions, Robby Black. Our operations team recently flew from HQ here in San Francisco to help set everything up and to bring that same Vendini touch into our new home.
So: why Knoxville? We opened this office to focus on music and arts festivals and to establish a physical presence in the southeast – an area that is famous for the quality and quantity of its music festivals. The city of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee also are special to us, as we have several UT alums and native Knoxvillians in the Vendini family. We figured Knoxville was the perfect place to act as the home base for our festival team, as it’s nestled right in the backyard of some of the most popular festivals in the world. This new office will allows us put boots on the ground in the area and be in proximity to these great festivals.
For those of you familiar with Knoxville, our offices are in the beautiful White Lily building, which was originally constructed in 1885 and was known as the White Lily Flour Building (it served as a flour production plant). We’re planning to have about 20 to 25 employees in the Knoxville office, all of whom will be focusing on the festival vertical. We can’t wait for UT football games, lunches at the famous Sweet P’s barbecue, trips to the Great Smokie Mountains and so much more.
This new office is really a testament to how far we’ve come as a company that was started on a card table almost 15 years ago. Here’s to the next 15 and to a new home in Knoxville, Tennessee.
